Cherokee Kid Congratulations

Our own, Tony Condon, aka The Cherokee Kid today passed his initial
Part 135 checkride with the FAA flying the Cessna 421. For
comparison, the 421 weighs approximately 10 times more than the
Cherokee II, lands faster than the Cherokee's redline, and has two 375
hp engines for self launch capability while the Cherokee of course
needs a tow. The Cherokee has almost double the best L/D of the 421
though!

thanks guys,

amazingly ive found several comparisons between flying the 421 and the
cherokee. being able to eyeball my approach angle and get a fair
assesment of my energy available based on altitude and speed based on
feel are definite skills that i honed in glider flying that have come
in very handy with the pressurized turbocharged twin. The thing is a
bitch to derig if you land out though. you thought the IS28-B2 Lark
had heavy wings!! ;)
