View Full Version : Seeking FAA designee in southern Arizona (Phoenix/Tucson)

If anyone knows an FAA designee in Arizona who can do an experimental
C of A on a new glider, please let me know ASAP. (Not Mike Moyer at
the Scottsdale FSDO -- he's busy until mid April.)
Advance thanks --

ps Also -- I have conflicting advice about whether a FSDO in one area
(say, Houston) can issue an Experimental C of A (racing/exhibition)
for another area (say, Phoenix). Does anyone have any solid
information on this?

Don't know the answer to the PS.
Here's the list.

Presuming you have your N-number, look for AZ _Maintenance_ DAR's that
are authorized Function code 26. I count 9 total maintenance DARs in
AZ with function 26. Whether they all will do gliders, I don't know.
Codes are defined in FAA Order 8100.8C
(4) Code 26 -- Issue recurrent/original special airworthiness
certificates, in the
experimental category, for the purposes of operating exhibition or air
racing on U.S.-registered
aircraft located in the United States.
Good luck,
Frank Whiteley
ps: maybe someone will have a name and number handy

Its' a long way to go, but I know a DAR in El Monte CA, and
gliders/motorgliders a specialty.
And yes, he can cross FSDO boundaries.

They may be authorized to do so IAW para 904 of FAA Order 8100.8C. If
you're in a hurry, suggest checking with the local guys first.
