Illinois for one. Plane sticker. Pilot registration. Annually.

Minnesota has an annual aircraft registration (and associated tax). It
starts at 1% of the base list price of the aircraft as stated by the
manufacturer when it was new, not including any options, and goes down each
year until it reaches 1/4% of the new price in the sixth and subsequent
years of the aircraft's life. Yes, that means that a 1964 C172 will always
be much cheaper to register than a 2007 C172SP. An aircraft with an original
list price below $10K and used only for recreational purposes may be
registered for $25 a year.

I shudder to think what a guy with, say, an F104 would pay.

Minnesota also used to have a registration sticker, but that requirement
went away in 2005.
