We started flying to lake Chelan on a father son fishing trip the first
weekend in May. We usually start that Thursday fly out of KRAL stop half way
and camp at an airport. Last year we stayed at Columbia. That was a really
nice place. We would like to try someplace new this year. We would like to
be able to put up a tent and camp right on the field and have a restaurant
close enough to walk too.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My favorite is in the California foothills is Georgetown (E36). Very quiet.
No nearby restaurant, though.

Well, let me know how it is.

Years ago (ah, er maybe a decade ago), they actually had showers. The
last time I was there (3 years?) the showers were locked up, apparently
out of service. The bathrooms were still open, though, and the
campgrounds were nice.
