Thanks Jay!
Well worth the endeavor! Didn't realize how much one misses
committing aviation when not PIC for seven weeks! I been safety pilot
and flew commercial, but still nothing like floating along aimlessly
at 110 knots without a care in the world. Only difference now, is I
have more cushion to cushion my tush. Doesn't soften the landings LOL

Thanks Dave! While the downtime is never fun, for the flying I do, it
wasn't a big deal, and would I do it again? Absolutely!

I can believe it.
When I was ooking at aircraft, jsut the feeling of sitting in a new interior
was very nice. That's one of the things I'm looking forward to most in a
month or so.

Yep, a new leather interior is like getting an extra 20 knots in cruise.
We re-did ours in '04.

I'm really looking forward to the smell of new leather, too...N55ZC's
interior will be all leather, silver gray with blue piping at the seams. I
got the Temperfoam seats, too.
I love the smell of a leather car interior, and I'm sure the plane will
smell even better...

Actually, the comfort level makes you wish you had 20 knots LESS in
cruise.
NOT!!!!!!!
For me, don't need faster, just flying is good for me! Only
requirement I had when buying a plane was a four place and the
Sundowner fit the bill for creature comfort.

There was one in the flying club I learned at...until, one day, a guy wiped
it out on landing at Austin Mueller. (Idiots in the tower held the crash
truck response until an airliner holding on the threshold could take off.)
Nice airplane. Didn't know it came in a retractable version, though...

It doesn't.
Gear is fixed and welded. I believe that gear handle and lights were
factory installed as a training aide for when the pilot was ready for
an upgrade to a Sierra.
Always gets experience pilots, and reactions are priceless. Lights do
light up, so it's wired to the ships power.

I would have mixed emotions on that choice.
Temperfoam seats are (for a while) like sitting on cold bricks, when you first
get into the plane when it is cold outside. JMHO.

My problem is quite the opposite, avoiding 13th degree burns on the
backs of my legs from the scalding hot heat down these neck of the
woods.
I did get some of that aluminum stuff to put in the windows on the
inside to help protect the new interior, but must be some science to
putting that stuff up without it falling off closing the door!
