View Full Version : Finally, a Kill File for Google Groups

May 9th 08, 03:15 AM
If you use Google Groups to read this forum, and Usenet in general,
your prayers have been answered.

There is now a kill file script that works in Google Groups if you use
Firefox.

Change your user name or modify post letters in header or
post from an anonymous site or mask or scramble your IP any
of these methods will make ANY Kill File software.......

You can augment kill-file with a fairly efficient procedure.
I rank posters A,B,C,D,E grade, then read the A graded
posters 1st, using their profile such as,
http://groups.google.com/groups/profile?hl=en&enc_user=81D_KxAAAABxwIesuFWK2xcOa_sCtvVE
is for Larry Dighera, then scan his posts.
So do the A's 1st, then B's etc ...as time permits.
When you get to the Dull D's you need to expand
your horizons. It's rather like reading newspaper
columnists, favorites 1st.
"E"'s are Excluded, (Kill-filed).
That saves time.

I also check new postings, to see who the OP is,
incase it's someone new and interesting.
Regards
Ken

Sounds like someone has never heard of Bayesian filters.

Yep, but unfortunately, many, many fine contributing people have left, and will
not return until the current crop of trolls and loons have left the house.

As it stands now, it is doubtful the loons and trolls will ever leave, as long
as some of the members fail to use self control by continuing to responding to
the undesireables.

I think what you're seeing are a lot of the trolls using other faux
identities to actually respond to their own posts, in a lame-if-effective
killfile work-around.

What's truly pathetic is that some of these trolls may actually be pilots.

Oh, and BTW, my provider clearly disallows changing nyms to get around
killfiles, so if I'm doing that, you can get me TOSsed in an instant.

Otherwise you can shut your lying fjukking trap.

Nah, maintenance. Bomb-Nav systems. We had to have 2 people high
altitude qualified. Usually went up at least once a month to fix some
problem we could not duplicate on the ground. Couple of "CND" (cannot
duplicate) sign-offs and up I went.

Occasionally on things like Red Flag penetrations they would send
along maint. just in case. That was a lot fun, low level across the
nevada desert, at night. The FLIR and STV cameras were kinda freaky.

I don't doubt that this is happening, but I only see a lame poster once, then
they are gone, until they morph into something else.

I do continue to see posters that have been regulars here, since before the
troll wars of 07-08, responding to the loons, and I can't understand it. I wish
it would stop, but if you have a wish in one hand, and reality in the other,
which one weights more?

Yep. That is puzzling.

OK, I'm with you now. Except for the Mil Spec aphabet soup at the end!
We don't get that sort of royal treatment commercially, but these days
there's all sorts of magic boxes with tell tales they pull to see what
we saw in flight.

The men from the bases in upstate Michigan would
frequent the entertainment establishments in
Sault Ste. Marie canada because they were somewhat
more permissive than those in the US. Canux took a hit
when the bases started closing.
I guess the USAF was worried about the morals of
those fine clean-cut virgin pilots, being corrupted ;-).
