View Full Version : Flying after a year of nothing!

I haven't flown in over a year. When I stopped flying I was a few hours
short of my stage two exam for my private pilot license. I know I screwed
myself over by not flying for so long but what material should I review
before even talking to my instructor.

It never hurts to read through the FARs and your aircraft's POC (if you
happen to have one), but the most important thing is to get
yourself back under the wing of a good instructor and fly.

Just do it.

The last recognizable provider host name in the PATH header belongs to
altopia.net. If one of their customers is preloading the PATH and also
forging your e-mail, that customer appears to be in violation of even
Altopia's liberal policies. See their FAQ questions on forgeries and PATH
pre-loading:

https://www.altopia.com/polfaq.html

Then attempt to contact them and explain in what manner the post is in
violation of their use terms and politely request they cancel that person's
account if it is indeed one of theirs - be sure to include all the headers
of the offending post. Also be sure to ask if they have a genuine peer that
uses the node name ACLU.cowards.run.from.the.NOTB and if so, ask them if
they can provide contact information.

Done deal Jim, thanks for the info.

I assumed it would be a wasted effort, but for the benefit of all concerned
I thought I would at least give it a try.

Hell, Chris has long considered invalid abuse complaints to be abuse in
and of themselves, and fire off a peer-to-peer complaint to *their*
provider.

Yet another chowder-head.

I own the e-mail address, fool, so I'm not
"forging" anyone.

And what part of "valid (or valid looking) site name" don't you
understand?

But if'n you want to pin a bullseye to your own chest, feel free.

Fair enough - I've sent you an e-mail to you at that address. Definitely
don't want to get caught in the crossfire of some emotionally charged
individuals.

But I'm pretty sure the way I phrased things doesn't accuse anyone of
forgery - it is offered advice, nothing more. I'd have offered the same
advice to you if you were on the receiving end of someone's obessive
attacks.

By the way, if your name is not Maxwell, then it may be that posting with
an e-mail similar, even if not identical, to another person's may be in
violation of the terms of service of live.com; specifically:

"Don't pretend to be someone you're not

* Do not attempt to impersonate any other person through any means."

From: http://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=searchtou&market=en-us#faq0

I'm sure you believe that all you have to do to insure you aren't legally
guilty of forgery or impersonation is to create an account name identical
in all respects except the target's domain. Maybe that'll work, maybe
not. Courts are costly in time and money. Frankly I think it's a dubious
legal stand and I can't see any reward that merits the legal risk. It may
not pay to push the envelope on the tactic.

Just my humble opinion.

The only better stress relief that I can think of requires good weed,

He and I had a 'chat' six or seven years ago about clarifying one of
his policies. He acknowledged that a clarification was needed, and
I've respected his limits as defined since.

I seldom get so worked up that I have to bother using alternatives.

You don't earn the right to fly the NOTB flag until you've won at least
one k00ksuit.

Why not go ask the ACLU what my Path: preload means?

Been done, failed......

Different providers take different stances on it. Some will allow
exactly what Alternative Maxwell is doing ( like altopia) others will
only allow froggery if it's obvious, i.e. the frogger can use the name
maxwell but if the associated addie was ,
you couldn't use, for instance, or
something else so similar it isn't immediatly obvious to a casual
glance. But just using someone's name is never forgery. It's a common
thing to frogg someone's name to get him to squeal on endlessly about
it, but only the most clueless ever fall for that gambit.

It couldn't, because clearly no one gives a ****, you clueless twit. The
game exists only in your mind.

All it proves is the lengths which you will go, to deceive people. It's an
open admission on your own lies. Are you really too stupid to realize that?
I guess we have to conclude that you are, by virture of the fact you
actually brag about it.

What a looser. You need to take a few lessons from Anthony, if you are

Serious? Nah. Anyway, I'm at the top of my game already. You;re just a
game of solitaire in that regard. Not to diminish your talents as a
fjukkwit in any way, of course. You're first rate, but you are, at the
end of the day, small beer. Keep up the good work though! i have
tremendous faith in you and with a bit of guidance form me, you could
end up with a major k00k award.

Speaking of which, Maxie seems to have crawled back in his hole for the
moment. Maybe the fact he's been played for a fool has finally sunk in.
