Hmmmm,

Not certain, but I suspect some photoshop here.

The rear aircraft looks larger and I can't see the reflection of the front
aircraft in the fuselage of the rear one. It makes for an effective image,
though.

No, it's not Photoshop. If you measure, you'll find the rear aircraft is
shorter. I'm not sure the reflection would be visible on the side of the
fuselage of the rear airplane. Here's a link to another shot:

The lower/closer F-86 was based out of Hickory, North Carolina.

The plane and owner/pilot perished in a take-off accident, a little more
than two years ago.
