future?

Nope, it's an AMD XLi.

The costume is how I'm best known, so I decided to ride that wave a long
time ago. It's been fun.

Hey, Jay, after fifteen minutes of farting around trying to "register" on a
website that seems determined to send me "interesting messages" that I
really don't want, I aborted trying to leave a comment on your picture site.

If you plan on using an HT in the cockpit without interconnecting it to the
headphone and microphone of your headset, be prepared to do one of two
things: get reports that you cannot be understood or turn the mic
clipping level to zero and the mic gain WAY down on the HT.

Jay "The Tron Guy" Maynard is famous. He has even been parodied on South
Park. Right up there with Barbra Streisand and Tom Cruise.

I'll never forget the look on my 17 year old son's face when we were
watching that South Park episode and I said, "Oh My God! I know that
guy." He thought I was a old geek before that. He was sure of it after.

It got you on Jimmy Kimmel and South Park.

Ok, I guess I"m showing my youth here but I feel there is a backstory
here that I'm not aware of.

The episode aired during the screenwriter's strike. Somebody sliced
episode together with the original internet references:

The unspliced clip is here:

The ELwire in the Tron costume is great stuff. I've some artwork with
it, wrapped a mountain bike frame for Burning Man, etc. It has infinite
play value for adults but unfortunately you couldn't make, say, kids
toys out of it because it'll shock the bejesus out of you if you touch
the exposed wire.

Interesting...you're not the first to have problems.

I've done it before, but not in the Zodiac. (Holding the radio directly in
front of the headset microphone with my mouth closed allowed the radio's
speaker to be heard over the intercom.) I've got a spare radio connection on
my GMA340; I'll play with that after I get home. I do have the ARRL book you
wrote for. The HT's an IC-91AD, and one of the things I want to do is play
with D-Star from the air.

Nice outfit you got there. I can see how you'd be proud of it. Why
are you standing in front of an airplane?
