there is a model 5Stv5483 ± 10 knots 57 mm ø62 mm
0,90 L (Capacity) Fast rate = 1,8 sec
if it says Sr # 05483 this is the SERIES # (model or part#) and Not as you
might this the Serial #
typically there should also be a data plate on the rear of the instrument
that will have both Ser# (shown as a Wr # or Werk (Works (Serial) number)
and model part #
also on the face it can have both numbers as well
but if it says .9L or .90l this is the .90 liter (quart size)
capacity......you can also use (2) .45L capacities "Tee'd" together if space
is a problem.

Thanks for the responses. The number is 05493 and is printed on the
face of the unit. This must be an out of production unit. It says
1,8 Ltr on the back which I suppose means 1.8 liter. I was hoping it
took less. Looking at Winter's cataloge it seems the 1.8 liter units
are not the most common. That is quite a bit of capacity for such a
small instrument (57mm)! This vario looks just like a 05483. Maybe
the company will get back to me on Monday as to just exactly what the
specs are on this unit.
