Isn't it amazing that the only bulwarks of Communism and Marxism left today
are Cuba and the Democratic Party of the United States. Even "Communist"
China is more capitalist today than Obama, Hillary, and the DNC.

Well, that just isn't true in so many ways it's ridiculous.
I'm not a fan of either Hilary or Obama, but they,re defintiely capitalists
in every sense of the word.
And the second part of that statement is complete crap as well. There are
many many very socailist, and very wealthy socialist countries, BTW whose
policies even the most liberal democrat would steer well to the right of.

The link is what effect a Marxist product of Chicago's Daley machine
would have on general aviation, if he got to appoint the DOT Secretary

The Canada Free Press seems to be a bit of a radical news source, but
thank you for the McCartyist link.
The other articles of the author of the article you cite, Cliff
Kincaid, are here:
http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/members/1/Kincaid/
And here is Kincaid's web site: http://www.aim.org/
Here's Kincaid being interviewed by Limbaugh wannabe Mark Carbonaro
where Kincaid further elaborates on his views of Obama:
http://www.aim.org/on-the-air/kincaid-exposes-obamas-communist-mentor-on-the-mark-carbonaro-show/
Kincaid has this to say about McCain:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/2239
The George Soros Connection
While it may sound good in theory, a “Democracy Coalition Project”
was actually started in June of 2002 and it has been run by the
political left, most of them former Clinton officials. Seed money
and original sponsorship were provided by the George Soros-funded
Open Society Institute. Key officials include Morton Halperin, the
director of Soros’s Open Society Institute Washington office, and
former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who served
as Strobe Talbott’s boss. Halperin also worked under Albright at
State.
If McCain is promoting a Soros-funded project or idea, it would
not be the first time. World Net Daily and others have noted
evidence that McCain’s “Reform Institute” also received funds from
Soros. Hernandez is a senior fellow there.
Could Soros, the billionaire financial manipulator, be in a
position to call the shots no matter who is elected in the fall?
It is certainly relevant and significant that Talbott’s book The
Great Experiment identifies Soros, one of the “visitors to my
office” when he was in the Clinton State Department, as one of his
advisers on issues like NATO. Talbott also thanks Soros in the
acknowledgements section of his book.
Soros wrote Toward a New World Order: The Future of NATO, back in
1993. He figured that NATO could take on the military
responsibilities of the New World Order until the U.N. was ready
to do the job.
It sounds a lot like the McCain plan.
No wonder Talbott is pleased with our “choices” this fall.

Several points:
(0) Nothing about this is aviation related.
(1) The article was originally published by an organization called AIM:
http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-communist-mentor/
(2) The article claims that "The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii
from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close
relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his
"poetry"...." But Obama was born in 1961 in Hawaii. He was in fifth
grade in 1971 and graduated high school in 1979. He was living with his
maternal grandparents at the time.
(3) The article says more about things that happened _prior_ to Obama's
birth than about Obama's actual _positions_ (e.g. events in 1939(!),
1951(!), the fifties, etc.) Obama's actual legislative impact as a
senator is openly available and it seems to be only moderately left of
the middle (e.g. Obama supported legislation which would provide
incentives for creation of coal-to-liquid fuel plants to help reduce
dependence on foreign oil[1]; on the other hand has called for universal
health care[2]).
(4) The author of the article, Cliff Kincaid, is alleged to have made
false claims in the past, as claimed here:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200512100001
[1] http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/09/AR2007010901503.html
Obama spokesman: "Illinois basin coal has more untapped
energy potential than the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait
combined. Senator Obama believes it is crucial that we invest in
technologies to use these resources to reduce our dependence on foreign
oil."

Eh? I have no intention of voting for Obama - but not because I believe he
is a Marxist, which he does not appear to be by my understanding of the
definition of that term. I will be voting Libertarian. (I'm guessing if
Obama were elected his policies would be similar to those of the Clinton
administration.)
The message from the messenger you quoted didn't prove a thing re Obama
being a Marxist. Sorry.

A vote for Bob Barr is a vote for Obama.
Either Obama or McCain will be elected. Voting for someone else will simply
take votes away from the candidate of the two that you might find more
acceptable.

A vote for a candidate that you don't want is a wasted vote. One's vote is
their "hat in the ring", and it should represent their point of view. In a
situation where none of the candidates that one wants is likely to be
elected, the worst choice is to misrepresent one's point of view.

I was thinking more along the lines of foreign affairs. The last real
conservative we had (altho I give Ronnie Raygun points for at least
trying) was Saint Goldwater. "In your heart you know he's Right"

Fortunately, no, since "Mr Green" did not become President. I can,
however, state that the Green movement is very anti-GA and that, IMHO,
they would have used the "terrorist threat" to keep GA grounded (except
for IFR corporate jets, of course).
Just review Mayor Daley's statements about private GA when he closed
Meigs and when he wanted to make Chicago a no-fly zone.
With Gore, no-fly zones would have sprung up like mushrooms after a
spring rain.
Yes, Bush could have done a lot better, but Gore would have made Bush
look like Super Prez.

Then you need to talk to other Greens and find out THEIR opinion of GA!
I am not anti-environment (few people are), but I look with a jaundiced
eye upon the Greens and the movement as a whole.
I fought many airport battles in California and can verify that the most
vicious lies came from the self-styled "protectors of the environment,"
often backed by developer interests.
Sen. Barbara Boxer, for instance, did not want to turn Hamilton AFB to
the "hobby pilots" when it was surplussed. It went to a consortium of
her political cronies for real estate development.
In San Jose, Supervisor Blanca Alvarado got ACORN involved in her
vendetta against Reid-Hillview Airport. We found out about her plan to
bus hundreds of rent-a-mob demonstrators to a Board of Supervisors
meeting and got our own people there early. Her mob had to stand in the
lobby and could not disrupt the meeting.
BTW -- ACORN is the same organization that Obama represented in ChicGO.

Any headline that asks a question instead of stating a fact is dubious:
ie, 'Is Obama a Space Alien?' (he came "Out of nowhere")
At the bottom of the story, note the link to "other articles by Cliff
Kincaid" You have to go back to before McCain was the Republican
nominee to even find a story about him. Kincaid absolutely stinks of
commie-paranoia and anti-Obama spin. Enough bias, already.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed Kincaid's other articles.
Here's what he said about McCain:
"If McCain is promoting a Soros-funded project or idea, it would not be
the first time. World Net Daily and others have noted evidence that
McCain’s “Reform Institute” also received funds from Soros. Hernandez is
a senior fellow there."
Sounds like ol' Kincaid has an axe to grind about everybody, but, I
wonder why all of a sudden he's not talking about the McCain/Soros
connection?
In a different article he wrote this:
"Defense Secretary Rumsfeld was fired even though he did everything
possible, with the military he had been given, to win the war in Iraq."
The ENEMY is Al Qaeda and Osama bin Goddamn Laden, and the WAR should
have been in Afghanistan, where Al Qaeda and the Taliban are making tons
of money off of poppy which, according to world news sources, has
proliferated all over Afghanistan (along with the return of the
Taliban), and so the actual terrorists who declared jihad against the
United States and the world are rearming, recruiting and harvesting
heroin while guys like Kincaid smokescreen the fact that the public
obsession with Iraq is helping our enemies in Afghanistan thrive.
Kincaid is an idiot.

Well, we are hobby pilots. So what? Amateur literally means "for the
love if" and if people don't do things for that reason what's the point
of doing anything?
What needs doing is education of people who don't understand what it is
that we do and the benifits that come from what we do.
Everone flies nowadays. It simply has to be put to them that aviation
does not grow out of a vacuum, and that many people, especially people
involved in experimental aviation, are at or near the core of new
propulsive technologies directly or indirectly. I've been involved in a
battle for a new airport where I used to live and that was pretty much
my testimony before the planners and the airport went ahead.

So what? These people are out there and theyre not going away. They do a
lot of good too. Developers would put tar on eveything for a buck if
they were allowed to. Someone has to stop them or there would be nothing
left to fly over for us to admire!
Education is the key here and it's guys like you who can do it!

"GregVK",
First of all, take a remedial reading course, so you can get names
straight.
Please tell us, the Usenet audience, how you became such an ignoranus.
Were you born that way?
Did you go to college, grad school and post-doctorate to get there?
Did you work hard all your life to achieve it?
Did you have it thrust upon you?
Is it some combination of the above?

His parents neglected him as a child, must liak Tom Cruise. Only
instead of turning to Scientology, Greggie turned to Usenet and sought
out negative attention to fulfill his little "need". You see, he
never learned how to interact socially liak all the NORMAL children,
so this is the only way he knows how to communicate with people...it's
kind of sad really.

Only a genuine right winger would bother with that pathetic smear
attempt.

heheh. There are a lot of young innocent pinheads with a degree out
there looking for a basement to stay in for free. I think it says more
about the educational focus of this culture than anything else.
Becoming fluent in any leading edge field of endeavor requires a number
of years of hard work, study and effort, not 4 years of partying.
oh well... I'm sure Obama will fix everything.

"Consider that language a moment. 'Purposefully and materially
supported hostilities against the United States' is in the eye of the
beholder, and this administration has proven itself to be astonishingly
impatient with criticism of any kind. The broad powers given to Bush by
this legislation allow him to capture, indefinitely detain, and refuse a
hearing to any American citizen who speaks out against Iraq or any other
part of the so-called 'War on Terror.'
"If you write a letter to the editor attacking Bush, you could be
deemed as purposefully and materially supporting hostilities against the
United States. If you organize or join a public demonstration against
Iraq, or against the administration, the same designation could befall
you. One dark-comedy aspect of the legislation is that senators or House

investigations into his dealings could be placed under the same
designation. In effect, Congress just gave Bush the power to lock them

people have seen through the lies of the Bush administration; with the

the Bush administration is on the ropes. And so it is particularly
