I have a friend who showed up today with two mint condition stock
certificates for the Cessna Aircraft Company. One of the stock
certificates for 5 shares was issued in 1970, the other for 5 shares
was issued in 1978. One of the certificates was signed by Russ
Meyers.
Does anyone know if these stock certificates have any value?
Also, if you are interested in aviation you might want to check out my

I post daily to this blog about things I find interesting about
general aviation.

They may have some conversion value; you'd have to call Cessna for
that. However, the certificates probably have some value for
certificate collectors. There is a web page you can go to where people
bid on collectable certificates. I'll have to look around to see if I
can remember where it is.

It looks like 50's era certificates are going for about $500

Well they should unless it was bankrupt in between??
I think you will have to find out who the transfer agent was.
The company was bought up. And those certificats may have been declared
lost, but the owner still could have been paid for them. If so, then
they are only valued as a collectable.
