Things appear to be dead here, so I thought I would upload this
short movie for your viewing pleasure.

You think too much.

Look at the groups name. I can not see something like this ugly wmv format.
You?

Put it in YouTube and send the link.

Three things

1 This group is FAR from dead - there's a great many posts (20-30 per
day - over one hundred every week).

2 .wmv is simply Windows Media - it will play on either the Windows Media
Player; DivX or Real Player.

3 Perhaps _you_ should look at the name of this group - it's a
multi-media (binary) group; videos are quite acceptable if they are
on-topic.

I'd like to know what it is all about, before spending my time combining
everything together. Maybe a descriptive title?

Good grief, are we getting a little anal retentive here today?

If you don't like WMV formats, pass it up! Real ****ing difficult
for a queen like you huh? This is a binary group. Look up the word
binary and give yourself a higher education pal. This format has
been posted before and will be posted again by others.

****in Crist! This isn't alt.binaries.pictures.aviation, it became
alt.binaries.pictures.aviation.whining.retentive.a ctlikeanasshole.

For the few who refuse to view anything but a standard picture file
your the most indolent bunch I ever ran across.

If it means thinking, using programs other than OE or asking
questions about a file, you become totally lost. If you don't
understand how something works or can't get it to work for you
you scream WITCH!

Get over yourself and your limited ability to use a newsgroup.
Please! Please! Please! Plonk me! I beg you . . .

As far as how many new posts I see, it about 5 a day on average.
Not surprising for some servers to pick up more or a few less.
This group use to have well over 50 new posts a day. Seem's like
those users got fed up with the nit pickers out here.

Yes, I am guilty of not noting what you will view if you decide
to download the files. My oversight.

It is the one where a couple of 747 pilots at the gate start a gesturing
contest to race another 747 crew. They then race neck and neck around the
airport, though the departure gates and end up spinning out, sliding to a
thump back at the gates. Computer animation at its worst, with a silly
plot. You have probably seen it before, and I think it is on Utube, at a
tenth of the file size, to boot.

Lighten up Clem! Don't bust a vein. Your post is off-topic for this
group.

alt.binaries.pictures.aviation usually takes STILLs
alt.binaries.multimedia.aviation usually takes VIDEOs (& PDFs)

As you wrote, *most* users aren't too bothered if stills/movies/PDFs
appear in different newsgroups - I'm grateful that people will post.
Continetal Europe, I believe, is in a heatwave, so tempers may be short.
Britain appears to be trying to be accepting the rainfall deficit of the
Sahara - I was hoping for Fairford 'photos, but 'twas not to be.

The group is quiet, rather than dead, at least on my server - but we are
in the holiday season (which, across the continents, seems to spread from
June to September.)

I switched from OE to Pan as my newsreader because I got fed up with
piecing together posts, & then needing a separate utility if it had been
encoded (other than UUEncode). There are plenty of alternate newsreaders,
to satisfy different needs/tastes/OSs.
