View Full Version : Poll - Dumb****s
Ol Shy & Bashful

I'd vote for myself but I'm not a dumb****. Aggravating sometimes but
certainly not dumb. Who is your favorite? Seems to be a paucity of on
topic posts of late and more time spent on slamming people with the
insults born of the Simpson's era or is it Dr Suess?

We the people...because we keep voting into office the same pack of
chicken****s who won't face the unpleasant necessity of telling the
American people they aren't entitled to anything and therefore can't
"have it all " and right now too.

Sign of the times, I believe.
People seem to have less and less respect for each other, and even for
themselves.
Combine that with the dreadful climate of trolls, and the two different
philosophies of how to deal with them, (with both sides believing they are
right) and you have a bunch of people ****ed off, with no way to deal with
it other than to remain quiet, or lash out.
The "lash out" view seems to prevail, since the "remain quiet" ones are not
joining the bashing. Add to that the fact that droves of good people with
plenty aviation knowledge and experiences to share have left.
I wish I knew what the cure is. I have my beliefs, but there will never be
an opportunity for it to be enacted, since there are so many people with an
opposite view.
Back to a little bit of on topic matters.
It has been raining for two solid days, all day long, it seems. We need the
rain badly, and this is exactly the type of rain we need to soak in and do
some good. It is predicted to go on for another day, and then be scattered
for another 4 days.
After this, I believe there will be a lot of people just waiting to go
flying. Perhaps it will be busy at the area airports, again.

Hey -- if you're gonna talk about *flying*, Jim, I'm leaving...
:-)
Just kidding. Today is the start of the Antique Aircraft Association Fly-In
in Blakesburg, Iowa. This incredible non-commercial fly-in (no Ford Motor
Company, no rocket cars -- just AIRPLANES and pilots) always features THE
most unique antique aircraft in the world -- stuff you'll never, ever see,
even at Oshkosh.
We were gonna fly in today (with the Ercoupe, we've finally actually got an
honest "antique" to fly in!) -- but it's been raining here all day, too.
Luckily, we're only a couple of hours drive away, so we'll be out the door
here shortly.
If you ever get a chance to go to Blakesburg, don't miss it. It's a
remarkable event.

interesting here at KBED. The past two week have been unbelievably
perfect, and relatively light traffic. Maybe flying 5pm to 8pm isn't
as busy as I remember it....
