Can anyone tell me how good or bad a kr-2s does on grass strips?

They don't do all that well on paved strips -- let alone gras ones.

With the original, to-the-plans manual retract gear, they'd be a menace on
grass strips, particularly if, like most of them, the plane is overweight.

With fixed gear, and a bit bigger tires, they'd be passable, not great, but
passable.

Actually they handle very nicely.Much better than on concrete but then,

I was actually wondering about tri-gear?

Sorry, I can't give you any help there. I think that it would probably
depend on the smoothness of the field
