To All:

I've started uploading drawings for the Northrup (*) primary glider,
into the PRIMARY GLIDER Group on Yahoo. You will need a copy of
DeltaCAD to view the drawings. A free but time-crippled copy of
DeltaCAD is available from Midnight Software, the parent firm.

Most of the drawings depict fittings. The main advantage of
presenting them in DeltaCAD is that the drawing may be printed-out
full scale, allowing the drawing to serve as a pattern.

I have drawings for at least five primary gliders. Not all of them
have been coverted to CAD. Indeed, two of the sets of plans were
acquired more than thirty years ago. Of those that have been
converted to CAD, their files are scattered and will take some time to
reassemble.

A primary glider is about the most basic flying machine there is. As
such, their plans make excellent training material not only with
regard to aeronautics but for basic construction techniques.

(*) Northrup is the seed company. After seeing primary gliders
during a trip to Europe in 1929, a member of the Northrup family
imported a primary glider. 'Northrup' quickly became synonymous for
'primary glider.

John Northrop is the American engineer famous for his flying wings.
