No, just another news feed. $2 a month will get you one.

Try Bogplod - very good for the last couple of years.

Chris,
If you want the best newsgroup access in Australia, goto Internode, no extra
charge (Apart from downloads being counted) for access to both Supernews AND
Astraweb servers as well as being consistantly in the top 2 ISP's in
Australia for user satisfaction and service.
They are brilliant!
(No, I dont work for them, but I am a (very satisfied) customer.)

I was with optus, and got sick of missing out on pics or the whole server
just going down. I finaly changed over to astraweb after some serching, and
recomendations from other users in another group, and have not been happier.
Stuff optus. They have been giving me nothing bu heartache the last five
months. Unfortunately nobody else can give me 60gigs for $70 per month

SEVENTY DOLLARS? Man, do some shopping! Granted,
I'm not in Oz, but if you are talking strictly about
an NNTP server, you can do much better.

If you are referring to an entire crash of connection,
I take back the advice.

Merry Christmas - must be a 100 degrees down there.
I'm freezing my butt off here in the middle of the
planet burning up with "Global Warming."

Bigpond's $90/month with unlimited downloads - no limits.

Why are people moaning about their provider on a Newsgroup?
There is nothing the other readers can do to help them, especially when they
are, say, from Europe so why bother them?
Complaints should be sent to your provider and if you are unhappy about
service provided, change providers. Should be easy (at least in the
Netherlands it is).

Herman

You'd have to go back to the start of the thread. Someone was looking for a
new ISP for the very reason stated by "Stretch" - bad service. Here in
Australia, we have several providers, but I've always found Bigpond to be
the best (I was also with Optus once-upon-a-time).

And now many of the Aussie ISP's aren't even providing newsgroup access
either. Your options are rather limited when your whole population is on 20
million people. 300 million people in the US or Europe gives your a lot more
buying choice.

I've been enjoying 'ac249''s series from NNAM Pensacola. but only about 50%
of his pictures are turning up, which is normal with Optus these days. Are
you getting a limited amount or the whole lot at bigpond?

Regards....Chris

It varies; some of his (assumption that ac249 is male) posts come through at
a later time of the day, so the sequence is out, but I think most of them
are coming through. I dare say that this problem would occur regardless of
your ISP or country.

Having been with Optus (and before that, MPX, who were bought-out by Optus),
I can say that Bogplod is far superior where delivery is concerned. They
may be more expensive, but that has to be weighed-up against not getting
what one wants.

We certainly do not get the lot on Bigpond, but it is better than nothing at
all!

Hi Guys,
I estimate that I've sent 375 photos through since 12/12 from a quick look
at my Sent Items folder. I'm sending them through in between working during
the day (GMT) and when I get fed up watching crap on the box or doing other
things in the evenings. There have been a couple of early morning ones when
I was watching my Band of Brothers Blu-Ray that I got for Xmas. Ah, those
quiet times to watch GREAT TV.
Cheers
