ADS-B
Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast known as ADS-B is the
future for all aircraft.
Coming Soon expected availability late calendar 08
The ADS-B system is destined to become a nationwide r equirement for
all aircraft flying in United States air space. DTI, a proven leader
in the development of new technologies for both m anned aircraft,
introduces a new light weight simple to use ADS-B Transmission system.
DTI’s ADS-B system is fully compliant with
TSO-C154b.
What is ADS-B?
Automatic - No pilot input required.
Dependant - Uses accurate position and velocity data from aircraft's
navigation system (example GPS).
Surveillance -Provides aircraft position, altitude, velocity, and
other data to facilities that require theinformation.
Broadcast - Any appropriately equipped ground station or aircraft can
monitor the ADS-B signal.
The DTI ADS-B is a portable stand alone device. No upgrades to your
aircraft would be required to comply with new regulations. Simply
place it in the cockpit and turn it on. Operation of the unit can be
determined by four LEDs on the front of the unit. The GPS sub-system
will link up with GPS satellites allowing the pilot to fly the plane
while the DTI ADS-B broadcasts position, altitude, velocity and other
data in a standard ADS-B stream every second during flight.
The DTI ADS-B works off internal batteries. No external power source
is required and weighs less than two pounds. It incorporates one GPS
antenna on its outer casing or one remote GPS antenna for users who
prefer an externally mounted antenna.
DTI ADS-B Units come complete with transmission antenna, GPS antenna,
mounting bracket and instruction manual. The unit comes with tail
numbers and aircraft information encoded in the unit.
