I remember that stuff.
I was sick as a dog for days.
But it worked out in the end.

Hang in there, Robert.

Crap. Do you have any good news?

Hang in there! Maybe they can try some other meds until they find
something suitable.

It is theoretically possible in Ontario for sure - but it must be
bought from a government approved source - and from what I hear the
"medical grade" stuff is just a bit stronger than red fescue or
kentuky bluegrass -

That is an antibiotic, right?

If so, that is a class of drug that drives me near that state, when I am
otherwise mostly healthy.

Have your docs see if there is another one you will tolerate better, and do
it quickly. Antibiotics should not have to do that to you, IMHO.

Alternately stated, you should not have to do and antibiotic that does that
to you, I hope.

Take care, and make this a Christmas to remember back on, next Christmas.

BS post said: "California allows medical use pot...may help"?

My comment was supposed to point out that I think there are other,
(14-15) States that permit?

I'll have to take your word for it John ;)

But...

The way he feels right now, Paris Hilton in a topless bikini
with a 3 foot bong and a bag of Hanoi Gold wouldn't help...

You are just are going to puke.

Morg, yes, it's an antibiotic, and a damn strong one too.

The doctors have to thread a very fine line between killing the cancer
and killing the patient. Many (most?) of the treatments leave the
patient will little or no internal defenses against infection.
So when symptoms indicate an infection, they hit is hard.

But I wouldn't wish THAT stuff on a broke dick dog...

Yep. I thought it was.

I was on it, or tried to go on it one time for some reason at one time when
I had one nasty infection that others had failed to take care of, I recall.

It really did tear me up, also. I guess I am wondering if there is another
one of the "gorilla-cillins" they could attempt to use that might be better
for his particular physiology.

Shoot, the worst they could say to a request for a change is no!

Didn't know that!

Dear Jim, Richard, et al

I'm doing fine, guys. Your interest is appreciated -- and a very nice
surprise. The thing is, I've got a few holes in my hide; biopsy, the
back surgery, surface wounds from the shingles (reaction to the
steroids). Some of them are infected -- very minor. Given a number
of options, I've elected ten days of Doxycycline as the best
compromise, given the other fifteen (!) drugs -- and me -- with which
it must interact.

Probably shouldn't of even mentioned it.

Overall, I think I'm doing pretty good... I've miles to go before I
sleep :-)

I, for one, am glad when you do mention things.

I have never met you, but through this strange group, feel like you are a
good friend. I have taken a keen interest in your ailment, and want to be
pulling on your side.

It can't hurt, you know! ;-)

Ten days isn't too bad Bob. Tough ten days, I know, but half over
right?

Roger that. I mentioned it as an explanation for getting a bit behind
on the mail but as I said in my last post, I probably should of
mentioned it at all.

As for the what & why & falling behind, I've been trying to provide
photos of some jigs & fixtures I've mentioned in earlier posts that
had no supporting illustrations. But taking the pix often meant
getting out to the shop, moving stuff around and so forth. Minor
chores that I found impossible, thanks to my latest change in meds.

The alternative to pix is drawings, for which I use DeltaCAD. But
some drawings take a hell of a long time... and then they want them in
a different format :-) Or some damn thing.

Video is better than pix, in my opinion. But there again, I find
myself doing a Dykstra, going 'way over my 'energy budget' then having
to edit all the bits & pieces into something that makes sense.

Get a dose of cancer, it changes things. Often in way impossible to
foresee. This is one of those cases and I felt it justified
mentioning why. Prolly be a good idea to just keep my mouth shut :-)

I'm glad that you're still in better spirits than anyone could reasonably
expect, and also gald that you were part of the decision process for mour
medications. Still, those colds are a real mess--even if you were healthy
at the start! Hang in there, Bob.
