Rejean,

I assume you are trying to run the LXe software on your G5?

I suggest using the Control Panel to find out what serial port your
USB/Serial adapter is creating (e.g. COMM5, COMM6, etc). Next, when
you start LXe, there should be a menu that lets you specify which COMM
port.

Have you connected this LX7007 to a PC before, or is this your first
time? (Are you following the LX7007 manual's instructions for using
the TRANSFER | PC PORT menu?)

All three of the USB-Serial adapters I've tried worked well with the
laptop and desktops I tried them with, connecting to an LX5000 (with
Windows 98) and LX7007 (with XP).

The key is to have the adapter manufacturer's Windows driver loaded
for adapter -- Windows will sometimes say that the (new) device is
ready to use, even before installing the driver. I have been bitten by
this before.
