View Full Version : Glider Ground School – Eastern PA - January

RL
December 23rd 08, 07:31 PM
Glider Pilot’s Ground School
Sponsored by Philadelphia Glider Council, Hilltown, PA

This is not the typical “answers to FAA test questions” type ground
school, but rather a look at the concepts and background information
required to understand the test questions. Taught by experienced CFI-
G’s and other professionally qualified faculty, the PGC Ground School
is an outstanding way to prep for a written or oral exam, a flight
review, or just an off-season review of the basics.

Full course attendees receive a logbook endorsement for 20-hours of
course work that covers FAA aeronautical knowledge requirements. For
licensed pilots this may qualify for an insurance discount with some
carriers.

Course subjects include:
Weather Services - Flight Instruments - Pre-Flight Procedures -
Sailplane Aerodynamics - Flight Limitations - Emergency Procedures
- Off-Field Landings - Aeromedical Factors - Aeronautical Decision
Making - Collision Avoidance - Cross-Country Planning - Sectional
Charts - Airspace System - Weight & Balance - FAR’s for Glider
