Mike,

Thank you for the A-6 series. It brings memories of my tours of service in
VA-196, VA-128 and VA-115.

Many thanks Wayne. You r soaring site looks great. What fantastic country to
fly over. I still remember a few flights taken in a Blanik way back in my
youth. I was a motor-glider man myself later on.
Cheers Mike

Mike,

I purchased an old HP-14 about 10 years ago. It hadn't been flown for about
20 years and needed a LOT of tender loving care. I have been flying it for
about five years mostly over Central Idaho and Utah. Two summers ago I
managed to complete a 300+ km triangle qualifying me for a Gold FAI badge.
(http://www.soaridaho.com/Flights/6F_Gold_Distance.html Near the bottom of
the page is a link to a GoogleEarth file showing the flight recorder track.)

Dick Schreder designed the HP series of sailplanes. Slingsby was licensed
to produce the HP-14; however, the tooling was lost in a fire at the
factory. Previous to owning the HP-14 I owned a HP-16T. When I purchased
the '16 Dick Schreder has already closed his factory. I saw a real need for
information relating to these kit if they were to remain airworthy. So, I
started the Schreder Sailplane Designs website
(http://www.soaridaho.com/Schreder). That was about twelve years ago.
Owners and builders of Dick's designs started sending me information. In
reality, I am author of very little of the technical information posted on
the site.

Again, I have been enjoying your series from the Naval Aviation Museum in
Pensacola.

Wayne
