Hi,

I'm trying to find the number of 2008 SRA Poll invitations sent out,
as a proxy for the number of 'active' competition pilots in the U.S.
last year.

Can anyone help me out here?

TIA,

Why wouldn't you use the 2007 pilot seeding list? You can also
download the list over multiple years to get a three year moving
average or sort each list by year if you want an instantaneous number
- though I think you might get some unwanted noise looking year-by-
year. The seeding list eliminates duplicate contest entries for each
pilot too. T - the total number of pilots for the 2008 list (based on
2005-7 results) was 594 - pretty much flat over the past few years.

The 2008 list should be out in the spring if you need an update. I
thought the SRA poll used the prior year seeding list anyway.

Hey, thanks! I forgot abou the seeding list, but thats just what I
wanted. I was just interested in ballpark figures anyway, so 600
sounds about right
