I've just emailed in my entry for this contest, showing my SPOT on the
canopy rail, with Scenic Utah and much of the wing in the background. I
don't expect to win, but I thought it might be good PR for soaring.
Here's what I sent with the picture:

> Location: 25 NE of Escalante, UT, at 16,000 feet above sea level
> Date: June 15, 2008
> Description: We are looking north from my glider while cruising towards Mt. Ellen (Utah).
> Who: Eric Greenwell is the pilot
> What: The glider is a single seat, 1000 pound, 60 foot wing span, high performance sailplane with a typical cruise speed of 80 mph. It's made of carbon fiber.
> Why: Utah has spectacular scenery I love to look at, and powerful updrafts, called thermals, that take the glider high in air, safely above the desert and mountains.
> Where: I flew from Parowan, UT, airport for a couple of weeks with about 40 other pilots. Each day, we'd have flights ranging from 300 to 500 miles long.
> When: Middle of June, 2008
> Context: When you fly a glider, you might not always make it back to the airport, and in Utah, you can't count on your cell phone working everywhere in the desert. SPOT lets my wife (at the airport) know where I am, which relieves a lot stress. She loves SPOT!
