An opening scene for a James Bond movie popped in to my head right
away........... A get away from the bad guys from the ground and into
the rear of an orbiting C-130 :-)

This also brought up another flying car question that a quick Google
didn't answer.

Many years ago I visited the Forney museum (yes the same Forney) in
Denver and there was a flying car on display that had actually flown
if my memory is correct. Not only was it a flying car it was
amphibious as well. My memory says it looked something like a very
square lifting body.

Can any one give me some more clues about it's history, name, or where
to look, other than driving to Denver?

Well, it's not very tempting to me. But it does have the virtue of merging
the proven technologies of the dune buggy and the powered parachute. Add a
permanent enclosed storage space to house the foil when on the road, and it
should be marketable in enough quantity to turn a profit.

It certainly has more utility than a lot of the "personal watercraft" that
are sold in my area.
