You might consider a soaring flight simulator such as Condor or SFS-PC
(I have a no longer used SFS-PC that you can have). Then take-off and
land the heck out of it until the proper aileron response is burned
permanently into your brain. You can "damage" the virtual glider all
you want - no worries.
