Is that CF-100 on a stick the real 100784? Looks like the special
paint they had her in for the retirement, when I saw her at Abbotsford
in 1981.

Golly, that was a while ago...

Hi Bob. I believe it is the real 100784. All of the aircraft on display are
as original and authentic as they were when they were flying.

This may seem like a stupid question....but since I'm unfamiliar with the
type and it was way before my time... maybe someone can answer this. The
Sabre they have on display appears to have a smoked glass canopy. Is this
representative of the type? Is this something unique to the Canadian
version? Pictures I've seen of this aircraft show a regular transparent
canopy.

Take care,

Nick

No the smoked glass was not used at the time as far as I know.

Thanks for the reply! I wonder why it is that this particular bird has this
sort of canopy and what the story is behind it. Perhaps someone on here
knows....

Take care,

Nick

Don't recall which day I was there, but I was glued to the fence.
Think I still have slivers from that roll-up red wooden fence they
used back then...

This was also back when they set up the show so the sun was to your
back during the afternoon. And didn't charge an extra $20 for the
privilege of not having a tent blocking the view of the show.

Neither can I, with Outlook Express Header shows up as 11130 lines, but
1KB in size, with no attachment?

I use Outlook Express also (OE-6 that is) and experience no troubles at all
viewing these pictures. Possibly you have to check (or uncheck) some
settings under "Options".
Good luck.

Firefox is a WEB BROWSER

ThunderBird is the NEWS READER and it decodes it

I'm using Agent, UUEncoding, and sent all four images attached to the
same post. Very possibly one or more of those sins caused problems...

I will repost one at a time if folks can't get them to unencode
properly.

OE 6 does not even show like there is anything attached to the posts.

Well, I am one of those simpletons who use Outlook Express and I had no
problem viewing and downloading the picture. I am a little perplexed by the
problems other people have.
