Although I don't expect anyone to have this, I will ask anyway.

In 1998 or 1999, someone posted a picture on this group of an aircraft in a
salt mine. The poster claimed to be working in a nuclear waste storage
facility and took a picture of the crew cabin of the NB-36H nuclear test
aircraft.

The only copy I had of the photo left here with the burglar who stole my
computer.

TIA

Don

Sorry to hear about your computer, Don. I've been on this group since early
1999 and don't remember it - not something easily forgotten (as you can
attest), but I don't remember it so it must have been earlier.

Wish I could have been of more help. If you get a copy of the image, please
post it; it would be fascinating.

Went back thru the archives of this group back 20 years (40,000+photos)
and found total of 24 B-36 photos and 3 NB-36 photos 18 crew photos
but no salt mine photos, no cabin, no cockpit, no nuclear aircraft
no nuclear waste photos,,

any other groups that it may have been it ?

John,

No, it was this newsgroup. My recollection of the subject line was
something like "Airplane in a saltmine". The poster didn't know what the
aircraft was.

Many thanks for searching!

Do you by chance remember the filename ?

I tried search terms such as airplane, plane, aircraft, salt, saltmine
mine, in, there are 40,038 images listed for this newsgroup
still looking.. only the filename and the image were archived in this
search not the topic or poster..

will keep looken....
