The local Chicago soaring community needs your help. The FAA is well
on their way to the expansion of the ORD Class B Airspace that will
have a direct impact on soaring here in the Chicagoland area. More
information can be found at http://tinyurl.com/ordclassb.

The most problematic expansion is along the western edge out to the
30NM ring with a floor of 4,000 feet msl (tow release = 3,880). The
north edge of this expansion is only 4 miles away from Sky Soaring
(http://skysoaring.com). The western edge is only 10 miles away from
Windy City Soaring Association (http://www.windycitysoaring.org). With
a 4,000 foot floor, soaring will be all but impossible within this
important N-S corridor.

Please take the time to fill out the FAA comment form found at
http://tinyurl.com/ordclassb and return it to the FAA at the address,
or FAX number, shown on the form. Express your desire for a reduction
of this expansion, a lifting of the floor to 5,000 feet or more, or
elimination of the expansion altogether. Help the CLGC with your
words.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Please support this plea for assistance. If you do not believe it can
happen to you, the Philadelphia (PHL) Class B airspace is scheduled
for review and we expect to have similar problems.

Fly safe--
