Todays task was a TAT of 3 turns which were all North of Seminole.
Start was 52B, #16-20 miles, #17-5 miles,#18-20 miles, 361 finish. Top
3 for the day were KS, RF and 711. Top raw speed was 70 mph.
The top overall 6 for the contest were KS, KM, 5U, Z, 711 and DUO. The
sores were not held up, but posted shortly after the last finisher. We
did have several landouts and with the dinner being held about 30
minutes away, everyone was rushed to get their. More should get posted
on the SSA website shortly. During the contest we did have internet
service problems.
Todays task did produce some really fine weather, more like Uvalde
than anything else. Several of us decided to start late and were
treated to a rather high cloud base for the final glide home. Also,
going to the second turn gave many a run on a sea breeze line.
One landout was in an area that is still getting retrieved. Overall,
our weather was great, and again many thanks go to Seminole Lake
Gliderport as this was the 19th Seniors. The 20th is already planned.
Thermal tight, Soar high, Fly safe, #711 reporting.
