Mark Hawkins has made a number of upgrades to the SPOT tracking
program used at the Seniors contest, and it will be at Perry to
provide real-time tracking of SPOT-equipped gliders. If you have
already registered your SPOT with Mark, then you are all set. If not,
then you can do so by setting up a 'shared page' on the SPOT site and
sending the link to (remove the
<nospam>), or I can do it for you at Perry.

I plan to do the same thing at all the contests I fly this season,
including both the 15m and Sport Class Nationals. If you would like
additional information, drop me an email at .

As an interesting sidelight, Mark's magic tracking app will be used
for real-time SPOT tracking at a national paragliding championship
being held near Williams, CA. Apparently SPOT liked his app enough to
recommend it to the paragliding folks when they inquired about real-
time aggregate tracking possibilities. Rumor has it that SPOT is
lending enough trackers to the event so that each of the 30-40 pilots
will have one.

Regards,

Frank (TA)

>Frank, Can those of us who are not going to be at Perry also be able to
watch the action? If so would you tell us how to do so.
