There's a little bit of text on the upper right-hand corner of this image,
but I can't quite make it out... Looks like "BASIC DESIGN" or something;
and if the image of the instrument panel is anything to go by, it's very
basic!

I'd say it's WWII origin and probably combat aircraft, but other than
that...
