View Full Version : Charlie Spratt's "Celebration of Life" at Cordelle

May 11th 09, 05:19 PM
Greetings ~

The May 9, 2009 ceremony for Charlie Spratt was everything we had
hoped for! Many friends - from near and far, ~200 of us - descended
upon Cordele, GA airport to share fond memories, sort through photos,
nibble on delightful appetizers and then regroup to hear the
adventures and achievements of Charlie in a slightly more formal venue
at the Rainey Funeral Home. It was indeed, a family reunion!

I've gathered as many emails as I could to share some follow up
information - please pass along to anyone else you feel would want to
receive this. Gale, would you please post this on RAS (really, we
won't ask you to do anything else!)?

The 1.5 hour ceremony was video taped and is available for purchase,
if you are interested. Also available for purchase are 2 additional
dvds, one each of the first & second musical/photographic slideshows
that were played during the ceremony. The second, slightly longer
tribute slideshow is available for the next 30 days on the Rainey
Funeral home website. Go to http://www.raineyfuneral.com/ scroll to
"Charlie Spratt" click "details." Once it is available, you will see
a button called "view tribute video." Again this is the second
musical slideshow of pictures, not the recording of the ceremony.

To order any of these items ($15 each), please contact Ms. Betty
Freeman, 229.273.2231 or email - . Those
in attendance at the Cordele contest should contact Carmen Kramer, K1
crew, the "dvd" point of contact.

We'll host a less formal event (& show the ceremony dvd) at Mifflin
during our region 2 meet. I think something similar may occur at the
Harris Hill contest.

I know Charlie would have appreciated the time and effort each of you
made to come together on his (or rather our behalf), especially those
who attended solely for the ceremony. For those who could not attend,
we sensed your presence!

Great finish, Charlie!
