A picture which caught my eye as I read up on the excesses of the UK's
Members of Parliament.

it shows three Epsilons of France's Patrouille Cartouche Doré (which I
suppose would be rendered in English as something like the Golden Bullets).

I don't know the correct translation of "Cartouche Doré" but I can tell you
the word Cartouche must be taken in another meaning wich is : ornament
containing text. In french, in the present case, "cartouche" is gender
masculine wich means it can't be a cartridge. If it was feminine, "Doré"
would be written with a final E : "Dorée" and the tranlation would, in fact,
be "Cartridge".
French langage is sometimes very perplexing !

So perhaps Cartouche refers to what in English we would call a 'cartouche'
(in the Ancient Egyptian sense).

Checking with the team's web site (something I should have done before I
posted originally), it seems to say that Cartouche is their call sign and
that is why it is masculine. But I may be wrong (and I probably am).

Anyway, so the name of the team in English is probably the Golden Egyptian
Hieroglyphic Container.

But I can't help thinking that the Golden Bullets is better.

Cartouche (ornament containing text) is "UN cartouche" [male gender]
Cartouche (ammunition) is "UNE cartouche" [female gender]
