Hi,

I have a customer (Carl Herold) that is looking for a good Compaq Aero 1550.
I imagine that some glider pilot out there has one on their shelf that they
are not using. If you have one that has a good screen and good serial port
connector, please either let me know, or contact Carl directly.

A Compaq Aero 1520 or 1530 would also work, but I prefer the 1550.

Thanks,

Paul Remde

Other things to look for are broken backup battery door hinge, and
cracked front case where the rear case meets the main battery door.
Of 4 Aero 1500 (2 1530, 2 1550) I now have, only one almost unused one
does not have those defects. Since they are common failures it's good
they do not affect the functionality.

Main batteries are a bit elusive. I just bought 2 via eBay at $15
each including free shipping from Hong Kong. They were shipped by
www.espow.com but a search of that site does not show them available.
The batteries appear to be their own brand and not the Cameron Sino
brand that I have had sucess with before. Maybe they used eBay to
clear out their remaining stock. We'll see how they last.
