Its almost a year since Dick Johnson's crash. Has the accident
investigation been concluded and are there any reasons given for the
crash?

The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause
(s) of this accident as follows:
The pilot's inability to maintain aircraft control due to an
incapacitating cardiac event. Contributing to the accident was the
pilot's poor decision to fly with known serious medical issues.
From what I understand, I had a similar situation to Dick's and wrote
about it in my newsletter.
Before having cataract surgery, I had an EKG at my doctor's office and
failed it. He sent me for a stress test ( treadmill) which I also
failed. They scheduled me for a cathiterization and a possible
insertion of a stent or bypass surgery a week or so after the stress
test.
Chest pains a couple days later caused an quick run to the emergency
room, and the camera-up-the-artery test, which showed I had no
problem. The issue was caused by some medication I was taking.
The lesson, is if they do the tests and perhaps something is wrong,
don't let them put you off for a week. Do the necessary tests and
procedures right away.
