Following up on our successful wave camp in April, SoaringNV will be
conducting a cross country soaring program July 22-26, 2009. We will
follow a model similar to the wave camp, with morning presentations
followed by afternoon X-C soaring.
This will be essentially a “lead and follow” opportunity, with two or
three pilots flying in our Duo Discus gliders with Gavin Wills or one
of SoaringNV's regular instructors (including Devin Bargainnier), and
other pilots flying either their own glider or our LS-4. Maximum
number of “following” gliders will be two per leader so we anticipate
having space for up to 8 “following” gliders. We highly encourage you
to reserve space in a lead or follow glider (or both on separate
days).
It will also be an opportunity for sharing experience from cross
country flights. We will have a number of experts on various aspects
of cross country soaring leading discussions in the morning following
the daily weather briefing. Some of these programs will include
review of previous days' flight traces.
