I thought everyone already knew about it. But it seems I was wrong!
The airport in AOSTA, Italy, is closed for major work on the runway.
Ground vehicles are in full operations, and the runway at the moment
is just a rough base layed in stones. The National Safety agecy will
definitely declare any landing there as an accident.

Outlanding possibilities in Val d'Aosta are quite limited; I can
recommend the following ULM airstrip, which is the only known and
reliable landing place:

- ULM Chatelair: N45°44'25" E007°29'00"
About 8 km East of the closed airport.
(450 m grass runway with plastic cone markings 30cm high, 20m wide;
usually land on runway 28, for takeoff exclusively 10; there's a phone
wire H=6m over the threshold; listen to the Aosta Airport freq.

Outside the valley, towards the SE, consider also the ULM field of
Montalto Dora:

- Montalto Dora N45°29’10” E007°50’30”
L=620 meters grass; Runway 14/32; Elevation - ft/msl 840;
radio 130.000; Contact Pavani Eliano Telephone +39 329-9848625
