Forming Company Veteran Associations
The Department of Veteran Affairs estimates that approximately 1,869
American veterans die each day. The number of Americans who enlist
each day in the Armed Forces comes nowhere near this number. As a
result, membership in our oldest and best known veteran...

What happened to the US AF RF-4 Phantoms ? by
Prowlus
I remembered the USAF did aquire the recon phantoms but they and their
role seems to have disappeared alltogether come the 90s.
Did they get phased out due to spy saterlites or do f-16s have a
secondary recon role that hasn't been used yet?

Do the RAF really want the A400m? by
Prowlus
Just curious really, wouldn't going from a fast tactical jet transport
(c-17) to a slower prop transport be like swapping a stallion for a
mule to the RAF?

F-104 in Viet Nam Question by
Don Harstad
Just got a new magazine today, and there a fine article about the F-104 in
Viet Nam. I do have a question: If they needed to carry both drop tanks
and Sidewinders, did they prefer the Sidewinders be on the wingtip rails?
If so, then were the tanks carried under-wing? The only photo they...

more radial fans like fw190? by
jt
The fw190 had a relatively compact, streamlined housing
for its radial engine, apparently due to an extra fan
at the cooling air intake. If this was so successful
why hasn't it been done more often? I may have noticed
that in more recent aerobatic models from east europe...

F104- Boundary Layer Control by
Scet
When flaps are in the land position and boundary layer control is active, is
there an increase in EGT that is sufficient to register on the cockpit
gauge?
If so, does the pilot look for the EGT rise to ensure the system is working?
If not, is there an indication that the system is inoperative, is...
