Role of the observer in FAA by
Alex Potter
I seem to recall reading somewhere in, I think, "Carrier Observer", that
the observer was the aircraft commander and the pilot "merely" the driver.
I don't have the volume to hand at the moment. Was this the case?

If pilot Osburn had tried to fly as far as he could
toward an 'authorized' airport and had to 'ditch'
in the open ocean, what were the chances of

He111 by
Wombat
Hi,
Can anyone here help? When I first saw the 1968 film "Battle of
Britain" I noticed one or two of the He111 bombers had a small
cylinder hanging down under the fuselage. Does anyone know what it
was, please. It has puzzled me for 40 years.
