OSH observation by
Dan Luke
Departing OSH Wednesday morning, the departure wait for light GA peons got
pretty long. I was interested to hear the ever-more-urgent pleas from a
Cirrus flight of four to speed things up because their engines were
over-heating as they sat idling in line.
Didn't hear anything like that from...

Just wanted to know if anyone can verify something. I have my name

After sending resumes etc, the company has contacted me noting I have
been enlisted for a flight test that is in the UK. (UK based...

Am I the only person at Oshkosh without wheels? by
Jeff
I was able to get my family to OSH again this year (usually its a "guy's
trip"). We had a great time and enjoyed all parts. But, as usual, I do
have some gripes. Number one of those a Did anyone else notice a marked
increase in the number of vehicles running around the flightline?
I know...

FSDO followups on equipment probkems reported to ATC? by
Andrew Gideon
One of our club aircraft was recently on an IFR flight plan in VMC. The
instrument student and his instructor noted that the DG was precessing
excessively. They eventually canceled the flight plan and returned to
their point of origin VFR.
In canceling with ATC, they mentioned something about...

Garmin 396 TFR display coming and going by
Maule Driver
I flew into and out of 3W3 this weekend (to eat crabs). 3W3, Kentmorr
Airpark, is a grass strip underneath the Wash DC ADIZ that has a
specific procedure for ingress and egress.
Managing the procedure and airspace restrictions was easy with the 396
and my 300XL. Flying in from the north, I...

Finding Rentals by
Greg Copeland
Is there a website which makes it easy to find a rental in a city and/or
at an airport of your choosing? The plane I trained in was fine for
training but it's a well used trainer. For local flights, I'm okay with
using it but for some longer flights I'd prefer to rent something else.
The flight...

Does anybody know why it so happened that there's literally
nobody else out there besides jepp in aeronautical charting

them, and all this info is publicly available. Yet, the only
commercial enterprise harvesting there is jepp. Between...

On the Ground by
[email protected]
After I land at an unfamiliar airport, I feel like a homeless person.
This summer I planned a long cross-country from Missouri to California
and back, and I wondered if I could fly into small airports and be
assured of finding food and lodging. What I learned may be of interest
to others. Here is...
