Fly-in B&B for new years by Nick Kliewer
I'd love to fly to a B&B (preferably within a six-hour C172 flight of Dallas) for new years. Anyone know of any good places or resources for finding near-airport B&Bs? One with an instrument approach would be ideal (depending on WX) but maybe not necessary. Thanks! -Nick To reply by email --...

Heavy landing 777 by jfp
Hi a recent landing at Antigua in a 777 was very hard, and the pilot applied the brakes really heavily, probaly in my assumption, because of the short runway and a slight overshoot of touch down point, also if you pass the terminal exit point i believe it would be a push back, (very expensive)...

MSP very quiet on Christmas Eve by Montblack
I drove my gal to the Minneapolis/St Paul (MSP) airport this afternoon at 1pm. She's flying home to Minot, ND for a week (1.5 hr flight). MSP was sure quiet. NO LINES, few flights coming in, not many cars 'at the curb' dropping people off or picking them up, empty concourse. Surprised me a little,...

Thanks, All...and Merry Christmas! by Jay Honeck
As often as we all disagree, as seldom as we see eye to eye, and as dim a view of one another as we all might occasionally take, let's not forget that it's our love of aviation -- and this newsgroup -- that binds us together across the years and miles. We truly are blessed to be able to partake...

The Night Before Christmas by John
Twas the night before Christmas and all over the place, When we were confronted by an old flying ace. There was icing reported and turbulent air, He said, "File me a flight plan, I gotta get there." Outside sat his aircraft all ready to run, And the old man walked out to that P-51. "Bad weather's...

Red Bull Air Race on NBC TV Saturday by Montblack
I checked NBC's website. This was a (national) 1 hour long show - 2 pm in the Twin Cities (CST). Yup, it's over now. "World of Adventure Sports" Segments include the Red Bull Air Race, an aerobatic flying competition. I watched it for a half an hour. Good effort by the network. Montblack

GA User fees by Jose
Skylune, in a different, way OT thread, intones... It kinda reminds me of AOPA logic. For example, user fees: they argue simultaneously that (1) GA uses very few FAA services and therefore user fees are not necessary and (2) user fees would impose a ruinous financial burden on the GA...
