Looking for UK accident info by
Scott Migaldi
I was looking up the N-number of the first plane I soloed in back in the
1980s at the RAF Lakenheath aero club. What I found was that the plane
had been destroyed in an accident killing 1 (probably the pilot). The
NTSB only had the report of the accident as shown below:
NTSB Identification:...

P-47! by
Bob Chilcoat
Yesterday, as I was lamenting having to spend the holiday pressure washing
the siding on the house, I suddenly heard the unmistakable sound of a large
radial engine. I looked up just in time to see a P-47 flying overhead at
1500'. Wow! It was heading straight toward SMQ (Somerset, NJ...

came up. Fullerton CA (KFUL) VOR-A approach. At WILMA on V64, flying the
full approach. Do you need to turn outbound at the VOR for the procedure
turn?
Instructor says no because a Victor airway leads to the IAF. I say...

On the first leg of our flight to Washington, D.C., we only made it as
far as Rantoul, Illinois, due to thunderstorms. We were utilizing VFR

Outfly the wind by
Doug
Although it may SEEM like there is always a headwind both ways, a good
pilot can usually figure out ways to outfly the wind. The biggest tool
in the pilots arsenal is choosing altitude. I fly east from Colorado, I
climb to catch the tailwinds. I fly west and usually the strategy is
fly fairly low...

Another DC ADIZ incursion by
Corky Scott
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this but there was another ADIZ
incursion Thursday night. Like the C 150, this one too caused
evacuations of the White House and the airplane, a twin, was
intercepted and escorted out of the area.

plan the route for me, but I do want the ability to change my mind "on
the fly" and see how...
