Local flight >227 hours duration by
Casey Wilson
Hi all,
We pretty much exhausted this thread some time back, but I interviewed
Dick Rutan for a magazine article and the question of logging his
around-the-world odessey came up. Remember the Voyager flight happened in
1989. Rutan said the flight was logged as "local" in his book. He did point
out...

like them. Feel free to stop by and take a look.

Sleeping on long flights - What's the secret? by
C. Osbourne
Hi,
I'm going on some long flights soon, and would
really like to do some sleeping during the flights.
But somehow, I can't seem to get comfortable enough
to get to sleep. I'm 6'3" 280 lbs, and the tiny
seats are -very- uncomfortable after a few hours.
(can't afford 1st class)

Renters insurance and TRIA by
Scrabo
I went to the AOPA renter insurance website today, fill in the details for a
quote and noticed an 'option' called
Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 (TRIA). It went on the say "Insurance
coverage for losses resulting from certain acts of terrorism: $5.00"
$5.00 - OK I thought but wait, it was...

Stupid question: Where is this? by
Jim Buckridge
The cover of Ben Folds' new album is an airport... looks like a biggie.
Can anyone figure out where this is? It very well might be in
Australia.

Stupid question. The fun, I suppose, is in finding out if anyone
actually knows for sure.

Alaska's Sky Follies book by
doc
I just received a copy of Joe Rychetnik's "Alaska's Sky Follies,"
tales of the early days of bush piloting in Alaska.
I already had it, so I'll give this one to anyone who wants to stop
by (near ADS) and pick it up or who will pay for mailing it.

Ten Years of Flying by

Today I was able to celebrate my 10-Year anniversary of getting my wings by
flying Mary and friends to a wonderful lunch in Kewanee, IL (at an amazing
furniture store called "Goods"), followed by a full day of camaraderie and
fun.
Best of all, my landing in Kewanee was an absolute greaser, despite...

headset for passenger wanted by
Neil Bratney
Hello all,
I'm looking to buy a second-hand aviation headset to have on-hand for
any passengers I may take up in the plane I rent. Nothing fancy at all
needed, simply looking for a PNR set so the "passenger du jour" and I
can communicate.
I've been looking on Ebay and typically see junky models...

Student Pilot question online ground school rec's. by

Can someone recommend an online or software based ground school? I'm with
an outfit (second lesson) that is great, but without the ground school I
fear I may be placing myself at a disadvantage. They do not offer "ground
school," - it seems geared more toward the practical - flying aspects of...
