Lenders? by
12voltman
I apologize if this gets posted twice but...
I am pursuing a purchase of a SenecaII, and though my partner and I
have good credit and appreciable assets, we were turned down by
MBNA/AOPA. Honestly I felt that the loan officer didn't have much
interest in my business and generally seemed apathetic...

Aviation Video: Another F-16 bites the dust by
Iwan Bogels
Have you ever wondered why they sometimes call the F-16 a "Lawndart" ?
Well, the answer is in the video that we have just uploaded on our weekly
aviation mishaps, accidents and crases webpage: www.dappa.nl/crash.htm.
The pilot ejected safely (seen on video), and only some local worms suffered
from...

Piper PA-28 question by
GE
I recently purchased a 1973 Cherokee Charger. So far, I am really enjoying
the aircraft, but I have a question that has gone unanswered. There is no
mention of it in the POH or the information manual that I have.
Beneath the throttle quadrant but above the fuel selector (on the right
side), there...

Early 60's 182 numbers? by
Brinks
I'm looking into an early '60's vintage 182. I was wondering what people
had for real world numbers on cruise speed and fuel burn. And if anyone has
any advice on particulars to look for during a pre-buy or anything else,
that would be helpful also. Thanks!

Removal of KMA20, KX170B & KT76 by
Roy Page
I want to remove the KMA20, Dual HX170B's and KT76 from their trays so that
I can easily clean up all the knobs faceplates etc.
What special tools do I need to remove them ? And ... Where can I purchase ?
Thanks in advance for the good response I know I will get.

PA 28 Warrior floor heat duct question by
Tom Jackson
It seems as though the shut-off valve for the heater system is only
controlling the passenger-side heat duct on the floor of my '74 Warrior.
The pilot's side is hot to the touch, whereas the passenger side is
relatively cool to the touch. I can shut the small pilot-side floor vent so
the hot air...

Carpeting Quesion - New Cessnas? by
BellSouth.net News
On the new Cessna 172's, Cessna uses a Black mat type carpeting in the
front, then it goes to actual carpet in the back.
I'm looking for a source for the black mat in the front to do the floor in a
Mooney. Anyone know what they use or where I might get some? I believe
it's a polypropylene type...

New York State Sales Tax (Aircraft) Info by
James Keane
All,
I am about to purchase an aircraft that currently resides in CA. I am
planning to fly it back to NY and register it in New York. I
understand that there is a 4% sales tax on aircraft registered in New
York, due at the time of purchase.
Is anyone aware of any interesting loopholes to this...

Backup vacuum pump system STC'ed for Cherokee 180 by
Chuck
Hi group,
Seems to be a lot of experience out on this list, so I thought I might
ask a question.
I have a Cherokee 180 that is IFR cert, but both A.I. and Turn
Coordinator are vacuum driven. With both driven by vacuum, a pump or
engine failure in IMC will leave you guessing if you're right side...

KT-76 low power? by
[email protected]
Hey all... finally got around to taking a trip in my plane this
weekend (busy with school stuff). The transponder appears to be weak and
the controllers were none-too-pleased without seeing a squawk, IFR,
running next to a TFR... :) They had a tough time receiving my squawk,
especially when far...

Upgrade Question by
tony roberts
Hi
I currently own a 172H and fly approx 150 hours per year.
Now considering a 180hp Comanche.
Anyone have any idea how much extra per year I should expect it to cost
(excluding fuel - that one's easy - just over 1gph extra)
Thanks
Tony

Jeppesen USB Skybound Faster? by

I don't think anyone has commented about this on Usenet yet (or at least
Google doesn't have it) so I'll put the question out there. Can anyone
confirm that the USB Skybound datawriter is faster than the PCMCIA Skybound
II? I am contemplating getting it for the slight convenience factor of using
my...

FS: several Piper parts (long) by
Jay Masino
I'm selling off some of my "stock" of spare parts that don't fit my
Cherokee. I inherited most of them from an airport "old timer" years ago,
and they've been sitting around ever since. I thought I'd give some of
the newsgroup people a chance to make an offer before I Ebay them. I'll...
