Distance to Airport by
JimC
I have been thinking about the drive to the airport lately and how nice it
would be to live a little closer. I have a brother that is also a pilot and
he lives about 4 miles from his plane. Mine is more like 25 road miles away
and requires a half hour drive. That really makes a difference when...

Maybe 36" vertical and 9" from rear seat front to middle seat back.
Are these just child seats, or could smaller adults...

Mark S Conway
What would cause a crank seal to leak?
Seal got replaced, and 15 hrs later, started leaking again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Autopilot by
Hankal
I am looking for an autopilot for my 1973 Cessna 172M.
Do not need altitude hold. S-Tech would be fine.
Any suggestion?
What should I look out for in a used unit?

Interior Refurb Complete! by
Jay Honeck
And it only took 15 months... ;-)
When we bought Atlas (our '74 Cherokee 235 Pathfinder, named because he can
lift ANYTHING we can fit inside) in 2002, the only thing I didn't like was
his interior. We immediately replaced the ceiling plastic, but the rest of
the interior was tired, too. A...

3rd row in a 206 by
Shawn
A couple quick questions about the third row seats in a 206. In
pictures, the rear of the fuselage looks to taper down pretty quickly
aft of the trailing edge of the wing.
What kind of vertical and horizontal room is there in the 3rd row?
Are these just child seats, or could smaller adults sit in...

Bonanza Model 35 Landing Gear Question by
Eric Ulmer
Anyone know if the later model 35 nose gear can be installed on the
earlier model 35 Bonanzas? My B35 nose gear was damaged in a little
MX mishap and I'm in need of a new assembly including the casting.
The availability of the older style is pretty scarce and I've seen
at least one bonanza C35 with...

New or reman engine for P210? by
Phil Kellman
Well, the trustworthy engine (TSIO-520P) in my P210 has put in its
1500 hours or so without complaint, and it is time for a new engine.
The choice is a new or factory remanufactured engine. My trusted
Cessna sources in Santa Maria, CA favor a new Continental engine (at
about $37,000), but they are...

fzzzzt, popped alternator breaker C-172M by
Mike Z.
Ok, here is one for you.
The other night, about the time I landed, I hear a pop and remember seeing a visible flash. I see the amp gauge has a big discharge.
After I taxied off, I try resetting the alt half of the master. The high volt light is dimly lit and glows brighter when I turn off
half...

be?st choices for new engine for P210? by
Phil Kellman
(Sorry if versions of this message show up twice. Right now it looks
like my first attempt vanished.)
The engine on my 1980 P210 has reached TBO, and I'm trying to figure
out the best course for replacing it. Cessna experts who I trust in
Santa Maria, CA have suggested a new Continental engine...

The joy of fixing 'repairs' by
Michael
This year I decided to replace the interior in my airplane.
The brilliant person who installed my carpet clearly had his own
approach to doing things. In order to remove the carpet, I had to
remove the seat track rails and diassemble the controls for the fuel
valves. I asked around, and...

Pitot heat by
Paul Mennen
Just saw in this month's AOPA (Fall flights):
"Most pilots slumming around the pattern on a hot summer day
will probably not flip the pitot heat on, but certainly anytime
you're flying in or near moisture - at any air temperature - It's
safest to use pitot heat." - Editor in Chief, Thomas B....
