AOPA Pilot color blind? by
Jim Burns[_2_]
The latest issue of AOPA Pilot contains an article about vortex generators.
The article places high emphasis on how they can improve controllability
during low airspeed single engine operations in twin engine airplanes. The
subtitle of the article, as it relates to twins, mentions "Blueline Ops...

Looking for Pre-Purchase Inspection Near Lawrence J Timmerman Airport (KMWC) by
sashley
I am considering buying a 152 from Gran-Aire at Lawrence J Timmerman
Airport (north Milwaukee), and I need a recommendation of a mechanic
at that airport or a nearby airport to perform a pre-purchase
inspection. Also, I would appreciate feedback on Gran-Aire and on Lake

aerobatic C172? by
gt
I own a 1960 Cessna 172 with 2500 hours on the airframe. It is not
rated for aerobatic flight, but the positive and negative G loads that
it is approved for far exceed the normal G forces associated with a
well-executed barrel roll.
Has anyone heard of this maneuver being performed in a 1960 172?

Inner Tubes by
RST Engineering
I understand there is a new class of inner tubes that do not leak as
severely as the old
"TSO'd crap" natural rubber that we've used since Wilbur put them on the
Flyer.
Anybody got a lead on who has them for relatively few AMUs for common sizes
like 600-6 and so on?

Depreciating aircraft parts, dealing with taxes, etc. by
Andrew Gideon
Most owners, I assume, have corporations which do the actual owning and
which provide a liability firewall. But how are taxes managed?
The issue I think I'm facing is we pay money into the corporation against
future events like overhaul, repainting, etc. These monies add up. But
since this is...

Quick - what's to look out for... by
Jim Carter[_1_]
What should a Cessna / Piper / Commander driver look out for on the original
'47 BE35 (and I don't mean performance wise)? Where are some of the corners
to be avoided? What special attention needs to be paid to the airframe? I'm
looking at the ABS site now, but could use some additional...

Replacement nose wheel pant for 1971 172 by
[email protected]
My nose wheel pant is damaged. A body shop quoted me around $450 to
fix & paint it, and new ones from Cessna are over $1k. Used are
available on E-Bay for much less, and they all seem to say the same
thing - "should fit any 172 & 182, but do your own research". The
parts manager at my FBO said it...

How to polish an aluminum prop by

I have an old Sensenich 74" propeller (I think from a 172) that was a

airworthy.
I have had it hanging in my garage for a few years, and have decided
it would be...
