Comments on book: Flight of the Few? by
ms
I'm reading a fiction book on the Battle of Britain period in the RAF.
The Flight of the Few, Richard Hough, 1979, ISBN 0-440-12771-8, Cassell
Ltd.
Anyone recall this author and is the book reasonably authentic? It seems
so. He also wrote Wings Against the Sky, and Wings of Victory.

WWII 20mm cannon in planes by
zxcv
It seems to me that the Germans and Japanese had a lot more cannon in their
planes than the Americans who seemed to rely almost totally on .50 machine
guns.
Why was that? What was the rate of fire or the 20mm cannons and what type
of projectiles did they fire?

Flight Instruction: Then and Now by
ArtKramr
When I went to flight school in WW II every instructor we had was a combat
veteran who returned after a full combat tour of duty was completed to
instruct. My Bomb instructor was a bombardier with the "Bloody 100th" Bomb

Band of brothers by

HENRY V
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles...

*White* Helicopters??!!! by
Stephen Harding
Russian *White* helicopters, the analog to our ubiquitous,
yet never confirmed "black helicopters"?
A couple days ago the news mentioned Russians rescuing some
Russian (??) scientists at an Antarctic station. I think
the ice had broken loose from the continent.
Some video of the rescue showed...

D-Day Stukas by
Vic Flintham
I would appreciate help for a forthcoming article. I have read accounts
that the 339th and 355th FGs claimed 11 Ju 57s destroyed, 1 probable and
6 damaged around Orleans on D-Day, 6 June 1944.
Does anyone know the Luftwaffe unit or units involved, since there
should not have been any Ju 87s...
