Hawker Hunter down in PA by
av8r
Hi Everyone
The aviation community lost a real good man. Tom 'Sharkbait' Delashaw
was an extraordinary pilot. He thrilled airshow crowds around North
America in his single seat CF-104 Starfighter as one half of a
Starfighter Inc. (the other a two-seat CF-104D). Tom served in the Viet
Nam War,...

If you are looking for a fight... by
ArtKramr
There has been some talk of men who wanted combat but due to "timing" or "luck"
they missed out. Well if you are in a unit that won't get into the fight, just
try this. Go to your CO and say," Sir, I hear the 344th is moving out to the
ETO. I want to go with them. Here is my transfer request....

What's the deal here? Is it because she is female, and hence cannot be
assigned to a combat slot, that she didn't get the CIB?
She is just a little supply clerk, leave her alone.

TO fonts by
mah
I reference a lot of older tech orders in my research. Anyone know what
the font typeface and size is?
I'm getting tempted to scan and OCR some of them and make a clean copy.
Then I can put my originals in storage.
Thanks

P-39s, Zeros & A-24s by
Chris Mark
Little item from my friend doing P-39 research:
7 P-39s escort 7 A-24s on an anti-shipping strike to Buna summer 1942. Flying
at 9,000 feet, 3 Zeros going the opposite direction at 11,000 feet spot them
and peel off in an attack. Descending dogfight ensues until Zeros break off at
4,000 feet. ...

Hess's Me 110 by
M. J. Powell
I am reading a new book on Hess. The author makes a few startling
claims.
1. "The fuselage of the Deputy-Fuehrer's Me-110 was half a metre longer
than that of a normal production machine, and along its top a thin
copper tube ran from the cockpit to an added -on half-metre section
midway to the...
