Beech Starship? SpaceShipOne? by
DunxC
Hi,
I watched the fantastic coverage of SpaceShipOne's historic flight yesterday
and was truly impressed. I've long thought of Burt Rutan as the last of the
pioneers, and this one cements it. However, did I really see a Beech Starship
flying past also? I though Beech (or parent company) had...

Red Arrows to go? by
IanDTurner
A populer UK Sunday paper is claiming the MOD is looking at axeing the Red
Arrows in the sweeping round of planned defence cuts. The MOD denies any such
plan.
But, what do you think? Personally I'd rather have a front line Sqn on the
books than a bunch of prima-donnas, despite the publicity side...

PC problems after video of RPG shooter getting shot by
tscottme
Anyone else have their PC behave strangely after watching the video clip of
the RPG shooter being dispatched?
Both my PC and someone I sent the original link to are having problems. My
PC won't boot properly and his PC is restarting.
My antivirus didn't notice any problem.

New Airplanes in WWI (ISOT) by
Charles Talleyrand
Lets suppose you get to give a single new airplane design and a single prototype
to a participant of World War One. You can offer the Austro-Hungarians the
design for a B-52 if you wish. However, that might prove a manufacturing
challenge to them (and one can only wonder about their supply of jet...

Just the FACs please by
Pauli G
I have a question about FAC operations in Vietnam. When a USMC got a
radio call for help, could he vector in aircraft from all services, or
were only USN/USMC aircraft at his disposal? Also, did Army ground
troops have the capability to contact any FAC in the sky regardless of
what service was...

I posted this message on June 14, and received several promising leads, but
nothing so far on this particular group. I am researching a feature on a
target tow squadron that was based at Glenview Naval Air Station near Chicago,
Illinois in July 1945. They flew Martin B-26 bombers (Navy...

Reagan and Air Force One? by

During the week of President Reagan's death and funeral I heard on one radio
station that President Bush allowed the 747 carrying Reagan's body to
Washington DC to be designated Air Force One for that trip. Does anyone know
if this is true. I wasn't able to watch or read as much about it as I...

Boeing contract with Navy could help with Air Force tanker deal by
Henry J Cobb
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/local/8971217.htm?1c
Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kansas, said confidence in Boeing to do the Navy
program, which some analysts thought would go to Lockheed-Martin, could result
in congressional support for other programs.
